This condition can be controlled with the right treatment. Your dermatologist can design a treatment plan that will work best for your specific skin. Once you have a treatment plan, be sure to follow it. With proper care, your skin will be free of the rosacea symptoms that are causing distress.
Cover Up Your Skin
If you've been diagnosed with rosacea, take cover. Direct sunlight can cause serious problems for your skin when you suffer from rosacea. If you can, wear a face cover when you go outside. This is especially important during a flare-up. If you can't wear a face cover, be sure to apply sunscreen to your face when you go outside. It's also important for you to wear a hat when you're in the sun. The more you protect your skin, the fewer flare-ups you'll experience.
Find Time to Relax
If you're dealing with the symptoms of rosacea, give yourself time to relax. You might not realize this, but stress increases your risk for a rosacea flare-up. The best way to avoid stress-related rosacea flare-ups is to find a way to relax. Meditation and yoga are both excellent ways to beat the stress. If you're struggling to find ways to beat the stress, talk to your doctor.
Keep Yourself Cool
If your skin experiences frequent flare-ups during the summer, find ways to keep yourself cool. Overheating can cause serious flare-ups. If you feel yourself getting overheated, try to take a cool shower. If that's not possible, apply cool compresses to your face and neck. This will cool down your skin and reduce the risk of flare-up.
